Chester’s reflections

March 11, 2009 · Leave a Comment

O hai guise, this be Chester here. Drama today was toh-ter-lee absolut awesomeness. It’s such a great way to unwind from the harsh environment we struggle to breathe in, that inescapable antlion trap of homework, for the year 5s, and of EEs, IAs and everything else (un)imaginable, for the year 6s. Having such a creative way to chillax during the school week is so very Blue Ocean, and is wholly deserving of the SQA.

Our group activity today was to act as interviewers/reporters/surveyers/whatever-like-to-call-them-ers and their victims. Our task was to come up with a question, to be repeated by the ‘reporter’ for the others, and to develop different characters to answer the same question in different, amusing and imaginative ways. It was a rather difficult task for us year 5 drama babies; it required timing and skill to deliver our lines and to dramatize them properly, but in all, everyone did great. Apart from the homosexual issue being addressed several times in succession (and even that wasnt much of a problem cause there werent any repeated characters), the entire activity went on without a hitch and everyone enjoyed it.

A great ginormic CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who got through the auditions for Infanta and MRT. For those who didn’t, as Mr Quek said, there will be other chances, and we all still love love love you.

Dont know about you guys, but I’m all gigglywiggly with excitement for the upcoming acis assortment, y’all know it’s gonna be a blast! Heeheehahahoho!

xxooxoxo (i dont know which is a hug and which is a kiss, but many many for everyone!)

De Zhong’s Reflections!

Today has been a really fulfilling day. I came to this place, feeling emotionally drained and unhappy, feeling empty and quite “emo”, yet left a happier man. Drama is really a source of comfort and solice from the harsh realities of life, of student-students’ realistic relationships and the negative qualities of real life. Drama leaves me more confident of myself, cheers me up, enables me to forget my various problems no matter how small or big they are as I “change” totally into another person and immerse myself into the acting, no matter how minor they may be. This drama session, especially, has lead me to release pent up emotions, encourage creative thinking, and lead me to enjoy myself. I believe everyone has enjoyed this session too, and have learnt alot.

From the first activity, of saying the three words (I chose – Play with me), to the interpretation of the sentence “may those who come to play with me have no heart”, they have all lead me to think deeper. This sentence was quite ironically sad. Somehow, it touched my heart. And the group activity was really fun and enjoyable. I’m glad that our group’s skit was suitable for performing. I thourougly enjoyed myself performing and screaming out. Its really a emotional revival. How I wish drama can be held 2 or 3 times a week, enabling us to destress and learn more about our passion.

Drama is really cool. A cool CCA, however serious it actually seems / and feels when the teacher talks and there is a deathly silence. I would have preferred joy and laughter amongst the briefing but oh wells, the drama people are really disciplined, and it is really scary to just break the silence. Haha and lol. Thank you for the memories.
